What is Wealthy Affiliate About

Wealthy Affiliate is a platform dedicated to assisting and providing beginners and successful entrepeneurs in creating, maintaining and growing any online business to it’s maximum potential – and right now that is limitless!

With the longest standing track record and over 55,000 positive independent reviews it is no wonder that the company enjoys an excellent 4.8 star rating on Trust Pilot.

This rating is further confirmed with the current membership standing at well over 2,500,000 happy entrepeneurs of all levels – probably the highest praise any company could receive is a happy and contended growing membership.

Wealthy Affiliate was created back in 2005 and I have been a member of this top-ranked company since November 2006 and as such feel I am in a good position to explain exactly what Wealthy Affiliate is all about.

Let’s press on with my personal review of Wealthy Affiliate.

This review includes the latest update to pricing and structure as at June 2023

Wealthy Affiliate – the Current Situation (2023)

Wealthy Affiliate is a website dedicated to teaching entrepreneurs to become successful at online marketing specifically, but not limited to, Internet Affiliate Marketing (IAM).

Once you have learnt how Internet marketing works there are a myriad of skills you can use to make money online. These different ideas will all come to mind as you work your way through the easy to understand and implement lessons.

WA’s core training and has not deviated much since 2005; but that does not mean the training is outdated – far from it.

As the Internet evolves, and it does so rapidly, so does WA’s training and classes. WA are always looking to the future and positioning themselves to be at the forefront of any changes and to maintain their place as the Internet’s leading online business training platform.

Since 2005 the industry has become more competitive, more sophisticated and has had to adapt to the rapidly changing Internet – in particular Google’s algorithms.

As Google plays the tune, we as affiliate marketers (or any users of the Internet soon discover), we have to dance to it.
The benefit of being a Wealthy Affiliate member is the changes are either implemented for you or you are advised timeously of coming changes and what action needs to be taken. In 99% of cases you will need to do nothing if you have followed the training and simply applied what is taught at Wealthy Affiliate.

More about this later but suffice to say that Wealthy Affiliate has had to keep abreast, and ahead of these changes, in order to retain their position among the leading online training resources for affiliate marketing.

Over 2,750,000 (yes 2.75 million) members are proof of that!

However, the Wealthy Affiliate training does not end with Internet Affiliate Marketing!

What-is-Wealthy-Afffiliate-Marketing-Training-About
Internet Marketing Opens up an entirely new world

Internet Affiliate Marketing is just the beginning of what is an endless array of opportunities for numerous online income streams!

As you progress with your affiliate marketing business you will come to realize that there are literally thousands of ways to make money online.

Stop right now and ask yourself the following question:

Am I looking for a “get-rich-quick” scheme or am I looking to start an online business that is both lucrative and sustainable?

If the answer is a get-rich-quick scheme then affiliate marketing is not for you and Wealthy Affiliate is not the silver bullet you are looking for.

Sorry, but that is the honest truth.

If however you want to start a sustainable, long term online business and you are prepared to work hard and diligently for at least the first 3 – 6 months then affiliate marketing may well be for you and Wealthy Affiliate can definitely help you reach your goals.

Let’s look deeper into Wealthy Affiliate’s three membership levels.

What the Starter Membership is all About

The starter membership plan is designed to help you understand how affiliate marketing works and to decide whether it is something that would interest you.

It’s a way to try-before-you-buy and no payment is required – it is entirely free to take a look and experience the Wealthy Affiliate platform in real life, in real time.

During the first 7 days as a Starter Member you will have access to the full sirte as follows:

Starter-Member-Limited-Access-Benefits
Full access to these for the first 7 days.

Who is the starter membership package for?

If you know very little about affiliate marketing and are curious, or think it is something that may be just up your alley, then take a look and take advantage of WA’s offer of a test drive. You are under no obligation to do more than that.

You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

If you have some experience in affiliate marketing but have not achieved the success you wanted then definitely check out the starter membership before committing.

You’ll know soon enough if the Wealthy Affiliate training will provide the missing links.

The starter membership is not for you if you need an income immediately – affiliate marketing takes time and hard work prior to earning an income. But it gets easier as time goes on.

You can find out more about the starter membership package here.

What Premium Membership is all About

Premium membership is the next level up from starter membership – this is the level that the vast majority of Wealthy Affiliates reside in.

Online-Entrepreneur-Certification-Course-Training

As a Premium Member you have full access to all the standard training and the entire community.

Take full advantage of all that is on offer and you will see a huge increase in your learning and activity – this will accelerate, and greatly enhance, your inevitable success.

The two core training courses on offer are available to Premium members and to Premium Plus members.

It is highly receommended that you start with the Online Entrepreuner Certification course – leaving the Bootcamp one as a later option.

There is no time limit for these courses and you can work at whatever pace suits your current lifestyle.

Online Entrepreneur Certification.

This core training is where you will learn about affiliate marketing within ANY niche.

Within this training there are 5 Levels with 10 lessons in each level.

The course walks you through entire process of setting up and running your successful affiliate marketing business, regardless of what niche you decide on.

  1. Level 1 – an introduction on how to get started as an affiliate marketer.
Learn how to select a niche market or product, how to build and setup your first website’s framework, how to set-up your website for search engines (a basic introduction to search engine optimization), creating custom menus for your site, understanding keywords (and their importance) and writing the first bit of content for your site.
All the lessons include video tutorials and simple tasks for completion before moving on to the next section.
  2. Level 2 – upping the tempo.
A more in-depth look at the content creation side of affiliate marketing.
It’s all about branding, making use of visuals, keywords, understanding your audience and traffic and amplifying your productivity.
Content is king – give Google content and they will love you for it.
  3. Level 3 – Understanding the making money part of affiliate marketing.
This is the really exciting part of the Online Entrepreneur certification where you get introduced to affiliate marketing jargon.
What products to promote (with instant access to millions of products), how to find the best ones, what affiliate programs to apply to, getting and inserting your affiliate links into your website content and how to make money from ads and from within your content.
  4. Level 4 – Mastering Social Media and Engagement to Boost Rankings.
Social media plays a big part in today’s world and you can boost your brand and exposure, and ultimately success, by taking an active role in some, or all, of the social media platforms.
WA shows you how and which ones are best for each type of product.
You can make a good living just by using social media platforms to drive your traffic to your website.
  5. Level 5 – it’s all about CONTENT
In level 5 you will continue to create more content while you learn how to improve the readability of your content through design and structure, how to get search engines to rank your content quicker, write according to a plan and meet your goals.
The results you have achieved to this point are encouraging and will reinforce the mantra that “content is king“.
The more relevant and engaging content you can produce the greater your chances are of ranking.
By the end of level 5 you should be seeing an exponential growth in traffic, engagement and sales.
Certified-Label

The second course on offer is:

The Affiliate Bootcamp – this is a 7 phase course dedicated specifically to promoting Wealthy Affiliate’very own affiliate program.

Phase 1 through 5 are essentially the same as levels 1 through 5 of the online entrepreneurs certificate described above with emphasis of promoting Wealthy Affiliate.

Phases 6 and 7 provide additional training on the importance of the smaller search engines (Bing and Yahoo) and an introduction to Pay Per Click advertising.

Each year the top performing affiliates who have referred a minimum of 300 new members to Wealthy Affiliate qualify for an all-expenses paid conference held in Las Vegas.

Who is Premium Membership for?

The premium membership is for anyone who wants to learn how to get started and maintain a successful online business.

It will likely be as an affiliate marketer but may be some other business model: such as PPC, website flipping, SEO specialist etc.

It is also for the wannabe affiliate marketer who is tired of being scammed by the next best shiny thing, spending a fortune and having nothing to show for it.

With Wealthy Affiliates premium membership things will start to get real and you will finally begin to see consistent results

For me personally WA is home base for my 4 affiliate sites together with hosting. I have an option to increase this number of sites (with hosting) for up to 25 of my own domains and 25 site.rubix domains.

Where else could I get “everything under one roof” for under $50.00 per month?

What Premium Plus Membership is About

The next level up after Premium is Premium Plus and is currently the top level of Wealthy Affiliate’s training.

Premium Plus takes things to the next level – going beyond just affiliate marketing!

Wealthy Affiliate recognizes that, within the Wealthy Affiliate community, there are many very successful marketers, in a variety of fields, who have taken their businesses to the next level.

Premium-Plus-Affiliate-Marketing-Training
With Premium Plus training the affiliates learn to work smart, not hard, to accelerate earnings

These successful entrepreneurs have agreed to share some of their secrets with members through additional weekly live courses. These course are recorded and always available for later viewing.

Courses can be anything from advanced keyword research to buying and selling websites to ramping up your email campaigns to turbo-charging your WA affiliate sales and much more.

These take the form of short weekly videos over 4 – 6 weeks (WA’s own Netflix!).

Premium Plus members also have access to faster and better performing tools with additional features – see below for more detail on this.

Who is Premium Plus Membership for

Premium Plus membership offers additional specialist training for those who take a particular marketing route or want to improve their knowledge in a specific marketing skill.

Premium Plus is for successful affiliate marketers who are ready to boost their businesses into the next level – but you do need to fully understand the basics otherwise some of this stuff will be lost on you.

Upgrading from a Premium member to a Premium Plus member can be arranged at any time.

Wealthy Affiliate Tools & Training

Membership Tools

Premium members have access to all the tools available from WA, access to the community of 1,400,000 members (including the two founder members), all current and past blogs (many of which contain very useful tips and tricks for further enhancing your performance).

All past training is recorded and readily available including additional training created by members, live chat and all the other tools on offer.

Literally everything you need to create a successful online business is right there at your fingertips and easily accessible.

As progress through each lesson you will discover additional ways to make money online – giving you more opportunities to explore greater income streams.

The tools available to the different membership levels are quite amazing.

They are listed in the following graphic which does a much more precise and concise job of explaining than I could do.

The 3 Most Common Complaints About Wealthy Affiliate

By far the three most common complaints I read about Wealthy Affiliate are:

  1. Wealthy Affiliate is nothing but a cloak to disguise the real intentions of the owners which is to promote their own product through the WA Affiliate program
  2. Wealthy Affiliate is another MLM/pyramid program
  3. The training is outdated and in some cases totally irrelevant.

Let’s address these three issues and get rid of them once and for all.

Wealthy Affiliate Exists only to Promote Wealthy Affiliate

This supposedly negative comment is like accusing Amazon of just being a big retails store!
Well yes it is a business and for each dollar you spend you get to buy something, that’s sort of how business works – always has, always will.

No-one has ever denied that or tried to cover it up!

Yes there is a WA affiliate program – and it is a lucrative one for the affiliates.

It is no different to any other affiliate program.

Common-Complaints-About-Wealthy-Affiliate
Complaints about the Wealthy Affiliate site are largely unfounded in my experience.

If you were the founders of Wealthy Affiliate and had produced an excellent product that was clearly very successful with millions of current and past members would you not think it is a good idea to introduce an affiliate program as a means of promoting it?

I certainly would!

I imagine, and this is just my supposition, that the affiliate program is part of the reason why Kyle and Carson are able to keep the membership fees as low as they have.

With roughly 1,5 million members – you can work out for yourself what sort of money goes in every month and if 50% is paid out in affiliate commission it is still a fairly healthy income.

A large part of that revenue pays for operating overheads as well as salaries and bonuses for some 25 to 30 support staff.

Behind the scenes there is ongoing research and development to enhance member benefits and to fine tune and upgade existing tools designed to help us with our businesses.

Both owners have their own affiliate websites – and who knows what they earn from those – and I conclude that they are pretty comfortably off doing what they do with such great passion and selflessness.

Are they greedy?

Think about that for a while and consider what they could sell the business for with that number of paying members.

I often wonder if they have ever been made an offer that they can’t refuse and find it hard to believe that they haven’t.

Wealthy Affiliate is a Multi-Level-Marketing Scheme!

Clearly anyone who believes this has the wrong concept of multi-level marketing.

Wealthy-Affiliate-is-not-a-pyramid-or-multi-level-marketing-scheme
This is NOT how Wealthy Affiliate operates!

The clue is in the title – MULTI-LEVEL. There is no such thing as multi-level marketing at Wealthy Affiliate.

Neither is the sole purpose of the site to recruit more members to recruit even more members to recruit more family and friends to recruit … you get the picture.

And therefore it’s not a pyramid scheme either.

If WA was either I think it would have been shut down long before this – don’t you?

Let’s make this very clear if you decide to join WA as a result of visiting my website I will be paid a commission for introducing you – same as a salesman might be paid commission for selling you a pair of running shoes.

You are not compelled in any way to promote Wealth Affiliate on joining. It is an option that is there if you choose to enter the very competitive ‘make-money-online’ market.

If you then go on to convince one other person, or 1,000 more people, to join Wealthy Affiliate you will receive commission for those referrals, not me!

I will not get anything for anyone you refer – ever!

That’s it – end of story, no multi-level of sales and no pyramid scheme.

Anyone who says otherwise is talking crap!

Wealthy Affiliate’s Training is Outdated

On this point I am prepared to concede a bit of ground but I have to also strongly argue against it by way of explanation.

But before I do I would put my house on it that there is no single program out there that is totally up to date with the latest and greatest – simply because changes are so many and so rapid.

I have been a member for 16 years and during that time every year has seen at least one MASSIVE change and IMPROVEMENT in features and benefits for members.

In addition, each year there are regular tweaks and updates with beta testing to ensure there are no glitches before going live with proposed improvements and changes.

There is always a massive amount of R&D going on behind the scenes.

There has to be to produce the changes and updates they do to stay abreast of the Internet and ahead of the competition.

And that brings me to the outdated training.

Yes there is the odd bit of technology or video training that is outdated but this is almost entirely out of their hands.

For example today they may be using a recommended plug-in which is updated or replaced with a better one tomorrow or in 6 months time. The new plug-in becomes then becomes the preferred one.

That does not make the old version defunct – it simply makes it slightly less efficient maybe.

I have sites going back years that have had very few changes made to them and they still work perfectly fine.

With a zillion plug-ins alone can we really expect anyone to keep up with all the changes and notify members of each and every change?

And can we realistically expect the team to go back and hange a few words in over 500 (a guess) training videos?

Let’s get real …

Add to that the continuing changes Google makes to algorithms and the ongoing law changes relating to online businesses and you soon realize that keeping up to date becomes a full time business.
What WA has done since inception is to stay on track with an ethical business that has never been shut down by Google for black hat marketing or been scrutinized by any government agencey for dodhgy business dealing.

And here’s another thing to ponder – people don’t always update things immediately even when advised to do so.

It is up to each one of us to keep up with our industry – just as it would be if you owned a traditional brick and tile business.

As a member of WA you have a team of staff as well as over a million online marketers to bring your attention to any changes that will diirectly affect your business.

Is Wealthy Affiliate Outdated – or Are They Still The Leader of the Pack?

As you progress with your affiliate marketing business you will come to realize that there are literally thousands of ways to make money online. Many of these ways I was totally unaware of until I discovered them through Wealth Affiliate members who have way more “smarts” than me.

Wealthy-Affiliate-Are-Leaders-in-the-Industry
WA are still leaders in their industry.

To mention just a handful of things I have learned you can make money online with:

  • Website flipping – buying and selling. A very lucrative field with the potential to amass huge profits for a tiny outlay. Websites are like real estate and are highly sought after if they are successful or have the potential to become successful income-generating sites.
One Wealthy Affiliate member took 18 months to build a site that generated a reasonable income. After 18 months he flipped the site for $180,000.00 – similar stories abound within Wealthy Affiliate.
Sites, or even domain names, that are no longer required can be purchased for cents in the dollar and flipped on.
You too can learn how to do this easily and cheaply
  • List Building and email Marketing – this is a big part of many a successful affiliate marketers business. Build a list of happy customers who trust you and sell to them over and over again.
  • Pay Per Click (PPC) Advertising – the quickest way to earn money online. But also the fastest way to lose a lot of money if you don’t know what you are doing!
You can learn the skills needed, and traps to avoid, in PPC marketing and make a killing in return.
  • Pay Per Action (PPA) – another excellent way to make a dollar is PPA. Again this is taught at WA and is a lucrative market. Lower risk than PPC but with similar returns.
  • And many more

What Has Never Changed Within Wealthy Affiliate

From where I sit the core values and goals of Wealthy Affiliate have been constant from inception.

The principle has always been one of high ethics and maintaining focus on providing the end-user with honest and relevant information.

To do this requires understanding your niche, your product and doing extensive research.

We essentially do the research for the customer in order to help them come to an informed decision.

Wealthy-Affiliates-Core-Values-and-Mission-Statement-Has-Remained-Consistent-Since-Inception
Consistent honest ethics with one goal in mind has always been at the heart of WA’s philosophy

To this end WA has always agreed with meeting Google’s, and other search engine’s, requirements of providing a useful and pleasant experience to the end-user.

Wealthy Affiliate has never encouraged “black-hat” tactics, attempts to circumvent Googles algorithms with tricks or any other methods which provide short term gain but long term pain.

Everything you have ever needed for a successful affiliate marketing business has always been available through Wealthy Affiliate and I believe will always be.

The Big Little Things I Love

There are lots of smaller things within WA that I really like:

  • The best website support on the planet! I am no techie and this an amazing group of dedicated staff, who operate 24/7, are extremely quick to assist with any issues regarding your affiliate sites.
To me these unsung heroes, are the best pat of Wealthy Affiliate. I hope they get paid extremely well because they certainly deserve it.
  • An incredible website builder – WordPress is the platform that is most used on the internet these days – something like 84% of sites us WordPress.
The tools that are provided withing the website builder are there to save us time and allow us to get on with our business knowing that all the basic technical stuff is covered.
  • Access to all past training including Jay’s weekly training.
Missed some training or want a recap? No problem they are all recorded and available at any time.
As a Premium member an additional 1200 hours of training videos on a variety of subjects available anytime at the press of a button.
  • The extremely helpful community that are always willing to help 24/7. Need an instant answer? Head to live chat and throw it out there. Invariably you’ll get the answer withing a couple of minutes.
  • The very easy to navigate dashboard with everything being just one click away
  • The fabulous “content writing platform” that provides a method of writing content externally (IE not live within the website).
Content writer has superb features such as spelling and grammar checks, word count and the ability to add images on the fly. Essentially everything you need to structure content before publishing directly to your site.
  • Having one home to host a number of sites. I have one home base where everything I need is kept. I like that.
It means I do not have to worry about multiple passwords and multiple accounts to pay. It makes my life much easier!
  • The ability to buy and register domains within Wealthy Affiliate. Everything I need for a new domain is right there and ready to go instantly. Again I don’t have to worry about transferring a domain and hosting from one registrar or hosting company to another.
  • Having annual domain registration fixed at the original purchase price – unique within the industry as far as I know.
I used to get really peeved off when the renewal of a domain came around and it was suddenly twice the price of the original registration. That is now a thing of the past!
  • Having site.rubix as an option where you can test a niche, a particular theme, plug-in etc. before committing them to your own domain name site. This is a very useful feature to have and if you have found a winner switching over to your own domain is undertaken effortlessly and seamlessly by the heroes in site support.
  • Never having up sells – oh man how refreshing.
  • The Jaaxy keyword tool with the ability to store lists, brainstorm, use the alphabet soup method, check on domain name availability – all over and above the incredible stats provided for any keyword. Jaaxy, which comes with membership is an incredibly useful tool for the affiliate marketer and is worth more than the membership on its own!
  • The Promote tool – available from within your dashboard provides instant access to information on thousands of affiliate programs that you can join. A task that might normally take months to complete.
  • And on and on and on …

Little Things That Don’t Turn Me On But Others Love

We’re all different and the following features of WA are very popular – but don’t do it for me.

All were implemented with good intentions and all help members in a number of different ways.

  • Wealthy Affiliate Rankings – I think this is a great idea but I believe the algorithms need to be reviewed.
I am sure this will happen but as things stand right now getting to the top of the rankings is not based on affiliate marketing skills; it is based on activity within Wealthy Affiliate. As far as I can tell if you are on site all day chatting away on the live chat your ranking will go up and up.
  • The Live Chat Box – sort of 50%/50% in this as there are some very successful people on there helping members of all levels with a variety of problems. That part is great but it is a fast moving aspect of the site and often times great advice and discussions quickly disappear as the new chats bump them down the screen. This is exacerbated by frivolous chats …
  • Silly badges – Do we need a badge when we join, a badge when we have been there 6 months, a badge at 2 years, a badge when our first site is indexed, a badge when we get into the top 200 of WA ranking?
I get that badges can be motivational but they don’t bring in money!
If badges float your boat there are plenty available. Rant over.
  • Site Comments – The jury is still out on this one for me. I love the idea but the actual practice is a bit of a concern as there are too many that are so eager to give comments that they don’t add anything useful as is the intention of this feature.
Fantastic though when you do get valid and great comments.

The Real Question – Is Wealthy Affiliate a Scam?

Most definitely not in my opinion based on 16 years experience with them.

Wealthy Affiliate has always striven to be a leading affiliate marketing training site and to this end has continually added value to the features and tools for the sole benefit of the members.

Is-Wealthy-Affiliate-A-Scam
The smiling scam artist will not be found at Wealthy Affiliate

And while these features have been excellent additions to the site and for the members.

Unfortunately in a community as large as that at WA there will always will be the odd disgruntled member and ex-member. That is only natural in such a large community and much of their frustrations come from unrealistic expectations.

Affiliate Marketing is not for everyone and for those who don’t get it, or don’t at first succeed, it is unfair (IMO) to blame WA or the tools they so generously provide.

If there is one thing Wealthy Affiliate does “incorrectly” it is in their pricing!

People have come to believe that anything that is even reasonably priced must be inferior so they are always looking for what is wrong with Wealthy Affiliate.

The truth is they would do much better by applying what is taught and taking advantage of what is available.

The Final Word About Wealthy Affiliate in 2023

The Internet is a very different environment to that of the traditional business environment.

Wealthy Affiliate continues to keep abreast, and ahead of the industry, with the numerous changes that occur while continuing to deliver the best tools and training to its members.

Particularly at the price level!

And to prove that they have every confidence in what they promise they offer anybody a chance to test drive their site before committing.

Can anything be fairer or more transparent than that?

Why not take them for a test drive today and see for yourself?

  1. This is a very detailed and honest review of Wealthy Affiliate and what it is all about. I have been with Wealthy Affiliate now for 3 years and can confirm that it is a legitimate platform where you will get world class training to be an affiliate marketer. Some of the training is outdated, but it is in the process of being updated and new training is continuously being added.

I have not explored Premium Plus membership, so it is great to see that covered here as well. Thank you for sharing a very helpful review.

    • Hi Line (unusual name)
Thanks for your comment – it’s great to have a fellow member confirm my experience at WA.

I agree with you that some of the training is perhaps out of date but the principles and ethics of what is taught remain steadfast. i think what is out of date is stuff like All in One SEO (AISO) now replaced by AIO SEO Frame (or whatever the updated name is) and the training is based on using the older version.

It’s not a huge difference and with a bit of thought it’s easy enough to work it all out.

Another change has been Google Analytics to GA4 – again it’s a matter of how to advise GA of your site (this is, as you know, done in Search Console) and understanding how GA4 works. Again this is a change Google has made – not WA. And they could change things up again today or next week. It’s almost an impossible task to keep up with the changes – expecially with the amount of training available at Wealthy Affiliate.
This latter change is probably something the newbie shouldn’t worry too much about anyway until they are getting traffic – content is king. My advice to them is keep adding content and by the time you are getting traffic you will be ready to discover the wonderful world of Google Analytics.

And it is also at that point that you might start considering Premium Plus membership to speed up your learning.

One step at a time leads you to the next step and it all seems to fall nicely in to place.

      Thanks for popping by,
      Lawrence

  2. Your post provides a balanced assessment of WA and the fact you have been involved in internet marketing for so many years gives me confidence in your recommendation. I think post covid many people are hoping to find a way to earn a passive income – do you have any thoughts as to whether affiliate marketing is a smart way to do this? Is it possible? Is it a good business model? Thank you

    • Hi Rivi,
      Thanks for your comment.
Like you I think Covid has taught us all a little bit about the frailty of what we have previously taken for granted and self-employment or a second business on the side will certainly provide a degree of stability.
It did for me during Covid.
As to the second part of your comment I am a HUGE fan of Affiliate Marke3ting for a number of reasons:

It’s easy and inexpensive to get started
I don’t need to carry stock
I have thousands – nay millions, of products I can choose from
I don’t have to actually deal with customers
I can do it from home in my spare time and go at my own pace!
And so many more benefits such as more time with family, no daily commute etc.

It’s definitely possible for anyone with discipline to do and yes it is profitable.
My biggest issue with people who don’t succeed is that they usually expect results much sooner than is realistic and when that doesn’t happen they blame the business model.

Thanks once again for your comment

  3. Thanks for the insights Lawrence

So many reviews on wealthy affiliate by people promoting other platforms. Most have never tried Wealthy Affiliate. It’s nice to get the inside story from an actual long term member like yourself. Certainly seems to be a very all encompassing platform.

I know there is probably no exact answer for this, but how long does it take to see some returns with the platform. Some of us have been burned by other “make money online” programs and are a little skeptical to say the least. The costs of membership can add up and can get discouraging if you aren’t seeing any income.

    • Hi Rex

Thanks for your comment and your question.

It’s probably one of the most common questions we get asked – I kow I asked it a thousand trillion times when I first got started.

There is no definite answer to the question – I’ve heard that some people have made their first sale in 2 days.  But  that is very unusual and I suspect it is by providing a link directly to a friend.

It took me 6 months and that is a pretty normal time.  The problem is six months is an awfully long time to be working with no reward and no certainty that it will come.  A lot of people unfortunately give up because of it and it is exactly the wrong time to give up.

The first 6 month’s memnbership is going to cost you roughly $300.00 and that is a lot of money to see galloping over the horizon with no return address!  Yikes.

      But here’s the thing …

Once you start making sales and provided you continue to add valuable content to your site those early posts start coming into their own as Google gives them more credence and starts ranking them.

You’ll be writing new content while starting to get paid for your earlier work – and that will continue.  Then the newer work starts kicking in and together with the older work the growth is exponential.

Finally someone who can devote 40 hours a week to their business is likely to get to the first sale before someone who can only find 5 hours a week.

      Make sense?

  4. I am a premium member of the WA community. I started my affiliate marketing journey 5 years ago and today I am the owner of 4 successful websites. WA helped me a lot in learning the basics of this field. The video tutorials they provide are very helpful and moreover, these people are always there to help you if you are facing any problem. The SEO they provide “JAAXY” is also pretty informative. I think this is a great community for any newbie in this field as it proved out to be a gem to me.

    • Hey Hari – thanks for stopping by and confirming that WA is a great place to learn the basics of affiliate marketing.  The Premium membership adds another layer of sophistication and fine tuning to further increase traffic and ultimately sales. The whole point right?

Jaaxy is a great tool and there are some really talented people within Wealthy Affiliate who have really dug into keyword analysis and exactly what it is Google is after.  They have come up with some seriously out of the box thinking which, when analysed, makes perfect sense and works!

With that sort of information it is hard not to rank.

More importantly though I think knowing as much as possible about keywords concepts can save you a lot of time.

Thanks once again – your confirmation is most appreciated.

      Sincerely
      Lawrence
